Our Silicone Split Cup Insert is meticulously molded from platinum-cured silicone, ensuring premium quality and exceptional durability. Designed to snugly fit inside a standard 1-cup and 2-cup Anchor Hocking Glass Measuring Cup, it simplifies your bait-making process while producing stunning results.

Proudly Made in the USA:

We take pride in manufacturing our split cup inserts right here in the USA, adhering to stringent quality standards. When you choose Making Baits, you're supporting American craftsmanship and innovation.

Simple and Effective Usage:

Using the Silicone Silicone Split Cup Inserts is straightforward. First, ensure your measuring cup is clean and free from any cured plastisol remnants. Then, follow these steps:

  1. Place the silicone cup insert into the measuring cup, ensuring the flat spot aligns with the handle.
  2. Position the center divider with the cup's pour spout's center and gently press the insert into place.
  3. Press the bottom of the silicone cup firmly to expel any trapped air, locking the insert securely.
  4. Fill each side of the split with equal amounts of pre-heated and pre-colored plastisol to maintain equal pouring rates.
  5. When pouring, keep the tilt of the cup as even as possible, experimenting with rotation to control the flow of colors.
  6. If you stir with a knife, be careful not to nick the silicone as it will cause it to tear and fail. I recommend stirring the inside of the silicone cup insert with a popsicle stick that has been soaked in worm oil to remove the trapped air in the popsicle stick.

Note on Heating/Reheating:

Initial cooking of the plastisol in the silicone cup inserts is not recommended due to the temperatures needed to convert the plastisol oils into that goo we all love, but you can reheat your plastisol while it's still in the cup insert. The silicone also acts as a slight insulator, so reheating will take less time than normal.

Easy Cleaning:

Cleaning the silicone split cup insert is hassle-free. Simply remove the cooled plastisol pucks. For a more thorough cleaning, use mild dish detergent. Ensure the cup insert is completely dry before reinserting it into the glass measuring cup.

Versatility Warning:

While this insert is a versatile bait-making tool, we recommend against using it with epoxy or any form of resin with the cup insert while it is still inside the glass measuring cup. If you wish to use the cup insert with resin, remove the insert from the cup first.
